Geotextile fabrics are a great way of controlling weeds, stabilising and separating soil and other materials, and improving drainage and filtration. But it is essential to choose the right geotextile fabric for your project or you will not achieve the best results.
For paths and pathways
There are two key concerns when laying a path – ground stabilisation and weed control. Stabilising the ground will ensure that the path remains even, while suppressing weeds keeps maintenance at a minimum and the path looking neat and tidy. GROUNDTEX is a multi-purpose woven geotextile specifically for weed suppression and the stabilisation of the ground. By digging a shallow trench where your path will run, laying the geotextile and then covering with your surface of choice, you put in the groundwork that ensures a successful end design.
For driveways
A driveway will experience a degree of wear and tear. Unlike a path, where the pressure and friction will come from footfall, here you have cars coming and going on a regular basis. As with a path, ground stabilisation and separation of the soil and aggregates will be key concerns, but in the case of a driveway you will need a specialist, heavy-duty membrane, such as DRIVETEX, to tackle them. DRIVETEX will also help meet SUD regulations, as it is a permeable membrane allowing drainage of surface water to the soil below.
For roads

For general landscaping
GROUNDTEX is a superb general-purpose geotextile fabric, that can be used in both soft and hard landscaping applications as a weed suppressant and ground stabiliser. For weed suppression alone, choose WEEDTEX, a standard duty weed control fabric. It is effective in weed suppression while allowing essential nutrients to penetrate the soil and help in the growth of your planting. If a heavier duty weed control membrane is required, choose LANDTEX. This professional landscape fabric is a thicker alternative to Weedtex and will provide more robust weed control in most types of landscaping applications.
